The Problem
Let’s say you have $1000 and you want to generate yield on it. You could go on pancakeswap and pick the farm with the highest APY, but that might not be the best option since this APY number doesn’t take into account things like impermanent loss or general depreciation of the assets’ value.
For example, the BCOIN-BNB pair in pancakeswap right now offers about 200% APR. So if you have $1000 worth of BCOIN-BNB now, would you end up with $3000 worth of assets in a year? Probably not. If the price of BCOIN absolutely tanks anytime within a year, if you were to check again in a year, you would probably have received negative APY, meaning you’ve lost a lot of money.
Simpli Finance to the Rescue
The expected return displayed on our web app is the actual APY you can expect within a year. This is because it takes into account things like impermanent loss as well as price appreciation or depreciation.
In our app, you are able to choose the amount of expected return for your acceptable level of risk. Higher risk, higher reward. Our app also displays the maximum drawdown, which is the maximum amount of capital you can expect to lose in the worst case, for example if the market crashes. It also displays the volatility score, which is how much we can expect the expected return to vary.
The steps of using our app are very simple. Simply enter the amount of capital you have, the amount of expected return you want (the higher the expected return, the higher the risk), then click on allocate. The Simpli AI will then automatically calculate the best way to allocate your initial assets. Simply follow the recommended allocations to get the best annual expected return.
